Work to restore data connectivity 100% complete – MTN

Telecom giant MTN has finally restored to full operation their data connectivity.

After complaints from MTN customers over their inability to access various data services since Thursday, the telecom firm said in a statement Saturday evening that ”we have fully restored our data service so you can tweet, browse, download and stream at the 4G speeds you love”

MTN in an earlier statement explained that connectivity was interrupted over the last two days because of “a double undersea fibre optic cable cut in Europe which affected six Operators in six West African Countries and beyond.”

The West Africa Cable System (WACS) is in the Atlantic Ocean and connects many other African countries to Europe, according to Openserve, a unit of Telkom SA SOC Ltd.
