Okyeman Youth Association (OYA) readies to embark on a two day tour

Okyeman Youth Association (OYA) is in a good position to commence a two day tour to the province of the Okyeman state (Abuakwa, Kotoku, and Bosome).

Speaking to this website, the secretary of the association, Mr Daniel Obeng, divulged saying, its of a great admonishment to exhibit various tourist sites in the lands of the Akyem community order to attract investors so as to garner revenues for the development of the Akyem society.

“The world is moving from raw materials to tourism as a source of revenue generation and Ghana should back up and exhibit the kind of tourist attraction sites within its terrain. The Akyem society is endowed with many tourist sites and the time is now to explore and patronize the development of these sites for commercial purposes hence our schedules tour. – he made known.

Scheduling their activities, the OYA will begin it’s tour from Akyem Oda, Aprokumasi to visit the biggest tree in the Ghana.

The largest tree in Ghana, referred to as “The Big Tree”, can be found at Akyem Aprokumase, near Akim Oda, in the Birim South District, Eastern Region.

The tree is recorded to have a girth of 11 meters and about 128 meters high.

The team will thereafter proceed to Ankyease Jungle Warfare School where military personnel are trained.

Akyiase is the district capital of the newly created Akyiase District which was carved out of the Birim South District in February 2019 in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Akim-Akyiase houses a Military Jungle Warfare Training School for the Ghana Military named Seth Anthony Barracks.

This military school also offers strategic training to corporate organisations which seek its services.

The next destination would be Akyem Etwereso in the Akyemansa District in the Eastern Region where mysterious fishes are kept by nature.

These fishes are also known as “Spirit fishes” or “talking fishes” and Its the only kind in the world.

These fishes seems friendly and have the sense of communicating with humans.

The Okyeman Youth Association tour will continue to the palace of the chief of Akyem Wenchi, Dasebre Dr Asumadu Appiah.

The group will spend sometime with the chief and thereafter commence a clean up exercise in the township of Akyem Wenchi.

As stated by Mr Daniel, the tour is scheduled to be commenced on 6th December through to 7th December 2019 where the Association will have its end of year general meeting.

Okyeman Youth Association, is a build up group if indigenous youth from the Okyeman state.

the association aims at seeking development for the Akyem state whiles they pursue peace and unity among the three Akyem communities (Abuakwa, Bosome, and Kotoku).
