The Attorney General (AG) and Minister of Justice, Ms Gloria Akuffo, has said that her office will, in two weeks, commence prosecution processes against the former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, who was caught on tape allegedly taking a bribe.
Updating Parliament on the matter today, Thursday, after her initial postponement, Madam Akuffo indicated that the case will, however, be in court soon.
“Unfortunately, Mohammed Suale, a member of Tiger Eye and a principal witness with whom the prosecutors directly engaged in the preparation of the case was tragically killed on 16th May, 2019. The death of the journalist unavoidably stalled the preparation of the case.” she said.
The Attorney General told the House that the review of the docket has however been completed and the “presentation of the case in court is imminent.”
