Ghanaian dancehall music performer, Shatta Wale has announced his readiness to give away over 1000 hand sanitizers to his fans across the nation in time of COVID-19 outbreak.
The “kpukpaa” hit singer had taken to his microblog page to divulge such information.
According to him, he was made by his fans and in a time like this, he has to give it back to them as well.
He said: “Thank God First 1000 hand sanitizers out. So far as I know, these fans made me get here and in times like this I have to be there for them too !!”
With education around coronavirus in the country gaining the attention, citizens are advised to follow good personal hygiene rules including washing of hands and the use of sanitizers as and when necessary. This is a risk reduction and preventive measure to contracting the pandemic disease.
Various shops in Ghana have increased the prices of hand sanitizers by an astronomical margin of almost a hundred per cent to a thousand per cent (100% – 1000%) and over.
For instance, hand sanitizers that were sold previously at about GH¢3.50 are now sold at GH¢75 or event GH¢80.
