COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has dared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to order for his arrest if they (NPP) has any evidence that he had indulged in corruption in the past or present.
Sammy Gyamfi, then a fresh product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), was appointed as the Special Assistant of Mr. Kojo Bonsu, the then Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Chief Executive.
Some NPP members in Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti Region, have continually alleged that Sammy Gyamfi indulged in corrupt practices during his days at the KMA.
The matter also came up recently when Sammy Gyamfi was being interviewed on Nhyira fm.
Certainly not happy about what he described as a “false allegation”, Sammy Gyamfi openly threw a challenge to the NPP to call for his immediate arrest to face the law if indeed the NPP has any evidence of corruption against him, else they should stop denting his image.
“The NPP are in political office now so they have the power to call for my arrest and prosecution if indeed they have any evidence of corruption against me when I worked under Kojo Bonsu at the KMA”, Sammy Gyamfi threw the challenge.
According to him, he has heard from different NPP members that he (Gyamfi) indulged in corrupt practices during his days at the KMA, a wild allegation, which he claims has no merit, stressing that if the NPP cannot arrest him then they should let him have his peace.
Sammy Gyamfi, who is a lawyer, stated emphatically that he is a law-abiding citizen and has never indulged in any corrupt practices in his life, especially during his days at the KMA, saying his detractors that are creating that bad impressing about him would be put to shame.
Touching on other pressing national issues, the NDC Communications Officer lambasted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for practicing a ‘family and friends’ government, saying that the NDC would soon release more names of the NPP’s nepotistic administration.
